Stage Coach Ticket Update

Simplified bus timetables and ticket extensions for Chesterfield passengers

Bus passengers in Chesterfield are set to benefit from better value tickets and new, simplified bus timetables.

From Sunday October 30, leading bus operator Stagecoach is introducing a number of changes to services and ticket boundaries.

The Dayrider Plus and weekly Megarider Plus tickets, which are valid for unlimited travel on Stagecoach buses in and around Chesterfield, will be extended to cover Pilsey, Tibshelf and Morton.

Service 55 will operate up to every half an hour from Chesterfield to Wingerworth and Clay Cross. It will extend hourly to Egstow, North Wingfield, Pilsley, Morton (Corner Pin), Stonebroom Estate, Shirland and Alfreton replacing service 97.

In Wingerworth, buses will operate via Longedge Lane, Allendale Road and Deerlands Road in both directions.

The new service 56 (Chesterfield – Williamthorpe – Pilsley – Tibshelf – Alfreton) replaces the 96 and will operate up to every hour from Chesterfield to Alfreton.

Matt Davies, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire said: “The introduction of services 55 and 56 will provide many new travel opportunities which we hope will prove popular both with our existing and new customers.

â€œCombined with the extension of the Chesterfield Megarider Plus and Dayrider Plus area to cover Pilsey, Tibshelf and Morton, these changes will offer even better value for our customers.”

Other changes include a simplified timetable to improve punctuality and reliability on service 39 (Holme Hall – Chesterfield – Grangewood).

On Service 51 (Chesterfield – Tupton – Clay Cross – Danesmoor), a slightly revised timetable will operate before 8am on Monday to Friday and Monday to Saturday evenings.

During Monday to Saturday daytimes, service 80 will be revised to operate every half hour between Holymoorside, Brampton, Chesterfield, Spital, Hady, Royal Hospital and Brimington Common replacing service 84.

The 6.10am and 6.30am Monday to Friday journeys on service 10 from Chesterfield to Newbold will be combined into one journey leaving Chesterfield at 6.20am.

Due to low passenger numbers, the 6.50pm Monday to Saturday journey on service 84 and a small number of early morning and evening journeys on service 5 from Chesterfield to Newbold will be withdrawn.
